Landscapes of the Mind

This is a half-hour film commissioned by the Hart Gallery in London. David Blackburn, a well-established artist who was a contemporary of Hockney & Kitaj at the Royal College of Art, is probably the country’s most experimental artist to work in pastels, producing wall-sized panels of richly coloured abstractions, which, as the film demonstrates, have their origins in the artist’s love of landscape. The film includes an extended sequence of the artist at work – see ‘Productions’ - & interviews with a number of collectors, including the poet Simon Armitage. It is available, price £8.00, from the Hart Gallery.
